I. Program Parameters:

  • Cost: $2,700 per student

  • Number of Students: 5-6 students

  • Length: 7 Weeks from August 19th – October 5th 


II. What is not included:

  • Air tickets and personal expenses.


III. Program Includes:

  • Transportation from the Cordoba International Airport to the UBP Residence Hall

    • A private transfer will be arranged for the group

  • Accommodation in UBP Residence Hall

    • Double-room accommodation in UBP Residence Hall (rooms include private bathroom, a small kitchen, and internet connection. The residence also has a swimming pool, a shed and a study room). For further information, visit www.residenciasupb.com.ar​​

  • Access to Campus Facilities

    • Hours of operation: From 8:00am to 10:00pm.

  • Health Insurance

IV. Academic Contents:

 

  • Spanish for survival

    • Basic communication Spanish to allow students to interact with their social environment (buy a bus ticket; go to the supermarket, etc.).

    • *Compulsory for all students not fluent in the language.

  • Classroom for a WPI faculty member

    • A regular classroom will be available from 9:00am-1:00pm Monday to Friday, in UBP main campus (Cordoba).

    • (A classroom with a computer that projects onto the wall will be available for specific dates upon request.)


V. Excursions and Extra Activities:

 

  • Campus Tour & Welcome Lunch

    • Upon arrival, an orientation session is held where students are given general recommendations about the city and safety issues. Afterwards, students have dinner with the tutors and they spend the evening at the UBP

  • City Tour of downtown Cordoba

    • During the city tour, students visit the main monuments and historic buildings of Cordoba such as the Cathedral, The Compañía de Jesús or the San Martin Square (for further information visit the following link: http://www.turismoenladocta.com.ar/ )

    • 2 ½ -hours tour with a English-speaking guide

  • Visit to “El Paseo de las Artes”

    • A fair with about 200 craftsmen from all over Argentina, who work glass, wood, paraffin, iron, silver, etc. Afterwards, students can taste the typical “mate” at La Alfonsina (http://www.alfonsinaweb.com.ar/ )

  • Full-day Excursion to the Hills

    • Trekking in Cordoba Hills.

    • Includes transportation and lunch.

  • Full-day excursion to an Argentine Ranch

    • A general overview of a typical Argentine Ranch, with activities such as horse-back riding, traditional cuisine, folklore music, etc.

    • Includes transportation and barbecue.

  • Farewell Dinner

    • Held the last Thursday night of the program. Professors and students attend it.

    • Food and drinks included.

VI. Payment / Cancellation policy:

  •  A 10% non-refundable deposit of the total amount of the program should be made, 30 days before the starting date of the program.

  • The rest of the cost of the program should be paid 15 days before arrival, at the latest.

  • In the case a student drops out the program before the starting date, a 25% of the cost of the program, plus USD$ 150 for bank expenses will be charged.

  • If a student drops within the first week of the program, 50% of the total cost of the program will be charged.
